BootCamp 1.2 beta supports Windows Vista on the Mac

Apple published a new beta of BootCamp for free download. All those out there, who wan to run the ressource consuming Windows Vista on their Intel-Macs, can download the 138 MB package. As the name implies, BootCamp enables the user to boot his Intel-Mac with a Windows operating system. If you want to use Windows and Mac OS X parallel, you sitll have to use commercial solutions like Parallell Desktop.

Somtimes there is now way around the Redmond operating system ;-)

The wireless industry is meeting again at the CTIA Wireless 2007 in Orlando, Florida. From March 27th CEOs, COOs and former US presidents beat a path to the doorstep as keynote speakers. On Tuesday, at the first day of the conference and fair, Randall L. Stephenson, COO AT&T, gave his keynote. He presented the high-tech-gadget iPhone, again. His statement “One million people have asked us to call when this phone is available” pricked up the analyst’s ears and shows how perfect Apple’s viral marketing succeeds.

Is Google following Apple’s iPhone Strategy with gPhone?

It looks like Google is not settling with it’s current role as a small Google-Maps software supplier for mobile phones like the Apple iPhone. According to The Guardian, Google held talks with several companies like Telefonica/O2 to find a European partner for rolling out a "Phone", optimized for Google’s core competences: Search, find, locate, advertise. Samsung shall be the hardware and mobile OS software partner for Google. But until now, non of these aspects are officially acknowledged.

500 WWDC student scholarships from Apple

From June 11 to 15 it’s all about the Mac developer community in San Francisco under the warm sun of California: At the Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference the whole hardware and software developer community is gathering to get and exchange Mac first-hand insights.
The company is running a scholarship program for students developing for the Mac - 500 students will get scholarships to enter the conference for free (a US $ 1,559 $ value). But coming to California has to be arranged by the student him- or herself.
Application deadline is March 19, 2007 - so, if you are a student and want to join the conference, apply now.
