# CompareMe App Privacy Policy

## 1. Controller
Christian Lupp, Altstadt 77, 84028 Landshut, info@codedifferent.com.
We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, as this is not required by law.

## 2. Principle
CompareMe is designed as a data-minimising app. Its core function (price comparison/calculation) runs locally on your device. We do not operate our own server to store your entries and cannot view the data you enter in the app.

## 3. Purchases (Subscription & Lifetime Pro)
Purchases and renewals are processed exclusively through Apple (App Store / in-app purchase). We do not receive any payment data. From Apple we only receive anonymised or aggregated sales and subscription statistics, as well as the technical information of whether an entitlement (subscription/Lifetime) is active.
Apple is responsible for this payment processing. Apple Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

## 4. iCloud Sync (Apple CloudKit)
If you enable synchronisation, your app data is synced across your devices via Apple CloudKit in your personal iCloud (private database). This data resides in your iCloud account; we have no access to it. Apple is responsible for its operation and storage.
Purpose: cross-device availability of your data
Legal basis: performance of the user agreement – providing the sync function you requested (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR)
Control: you enable or disable synchronisation in your device's iCloud settings.

## 5. Analytics & Crash Reports
We do not use any analytics, tracking or advertising SDKs of our own, nor any third-party services. To improve the app and its stability, we use exclusively the reports provided by Apple via App Store Connect (App Analytics) and crash reports. We receive these from Apple in anonymised or aggregated form only – they cannot be traced back to individual persons or devices. As we do not receive any personal data, no consent is required for this.
Whether this diagnostic and usage data is shared with developers at all is something you control yourself in your iOS settings under "Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements" (option "Share with App Developers"). Apple is responsible for the collection. Apple Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

## 6. Retention Period
Local data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. You manage iCloud data via your iCloud account. Apple alone decides on the anonymised statistical and crash data collected by Apple.

## 7. Your Rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Articles 15–21 GDPR), as well as the right to withdraw any consent given at any time.
As we ourselves do not store any personal data about you, requests for access or erasure generally concern Apple (iCloud/purchases). We will be happy to assist you on request at info@codedifferent.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; the competent authority is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht, BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.

## 8. Changes
We will update this policy if the app or the legal situation changes. Last updated: 1 June 2026.
